28th of February was marked by a celebrative ceremony attended by the Board of directors of Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) at Kisumu during the handover of the recently completed oil supply jetty. The 95m long, 4.5m wide jetty with 8 dolphins was successfully constructed and delivered by SECO, complete with piping and full instrumentation, within time and budget and ready for use! This was the first major infrastructure project awarded to a Kenyan company by KPC and its completion marks a major milestone for SECO. The introduction of the jetty will transform Kisumu into the region’s petroleum export hub which will significantly boost Kenya’s chances of regaining its share of the East African petroleum market.
